1.Create An Account
Upon account creation you will have to customize your avatar. With this avatar you will be interacting with other people. It's understandable if you will spend some time on this step. You have to pick your gender and select a sort of template with which you will start chatting.
It is not the final you. These can be changed later.
After this step you will have to download the client. If a window does not pop-up by itself click on this link: http://nl.imvu.com/signup/download/. When the download is finished you can login using your details and start the game. You now have the minimum requirements to be an IMVUer.
3.1 Categories of Clothes
To make it easier for you, you have the filtering tab. Just like you have clothes in specific places in your room this is similar. You have them placed in various folders.
3.2 Filters Explained
B. Wearing - Here you will have a broader view of the clothes your avatar is wearing at the moment.
All Categories - All things that you own will be shown here. However, if you have hidden items they won't show up here.
Tops - Here you will find the clothes that are worn un the upper half of the body such as vests, jackets, T-shirts.
Bottoms - The clothes you wear un the low half of your body such as pants, skirts and even undies.
Shoes - Shoes you can wear on your feet.
Accessories - Here are other type of clothing that don't go in other previous category.
Hairstyles - All the hairstyles you acquired.
Eyes - Same as Hairstyles.
Heads - All type of heads you purchased with available sizes and shapes.
Skins - Skin types you purchased.
Avatars - All type of avatars you purchased according to you gender, poses and sizes.
Actions - Various poses you can attribute to your avatar.
Pets - You can actually have pets and here you will find them.
Crate List - Here you create your own inventory. You need VIP subscription to use this feature.
